Can You Handle any More "Me?"

Time to finish talking about myself, but after these six random tidbits I write about moi-meme, I will only post interesting things on my blog. Promise.

1. It has been a long-standing New Year's Resolution for me to go see a movie alone. I don't know why I have a problem with this--I don't group up with other girls to use the restroom, and I was 100% content to spend an entire week touring Paris alone. But for some reason, to see a movie in a theatre all by myself seems the ultimate symbol of loneliness and rejection. My friend Lindsey enjoys it occasionally, but me? I dread the day when it comes to that...

2. When I was eight or nine years old, I spent an entire year speaking with a British accent. 24/7--during school presentations, when bearing my testimony from the pulpit at church, even at the dinner table. Sometime during my childhood, I was taught that if I worked hard enough, I could become anything I wanted--and I truly thought I could turn British. I even fantasized about going off to boarding school (my mom was hurt when I asked her if I could go); I suppose you could say I was a bit fanatical. I don't know when--or for what reason--I stopped. No matter, really. God bless the U.S.A!!

3. My favourite flower is the Antirrhinum (commonly known as the "Snapdragon" [available at a Home Depot near you]). They are lovely and come in a variety of colours, and they are practically impossible to kill. Plus, they are functional--I mean to say, they really DO something...they snap.

4. I like the smell of manure. It's true. The processed kind that is on everyone's lawns throughout the glorious month of October--love it. Every fall, I drive around my neighborhood with the windows down (okay, sometimes I walk, too) just to get my fill of the pleasant aroma. I know it's only cow dung and chemicals, but to me, it is a symbol of everything autumn. And I do love autumn.

5. As a girl I hated my name so much that I got my entire sixth grade class (plus the teacher and the school principal) to call me "Cammie". But as soon as I got to Carson Jr. High, I met three other "Cammies" (or variations of the spelling) and decided to go back to the more unique me.

6. It takes me a long time to decide whether I like a person, but once I decide, very little can alter that decision. It's like they say in Pride and Prejudice, "My good opinion once lost is lost forever."

So now I'm done. {Please forgive the lack of photos in this post...I just don't feel overly crafty when I have to write so very much!}

Now I tag...Melenie, Tessa, Lindsay White, and...Brandon!

Oh Mill... If I haven't smiled today, I did just now when I started thinking about you speaking with a British accent. Not just a slight smirk, either, but a full-on grin, and almost a laugh. To the rest of you blogging world: I wish you could have heard Cammie the Brit. Oh, how funny it was. Plus, she couldn't say hard Rs; for instance, she would say "taw-kee" instead of turkey. The combination of the soft Rs with the British accent was absolutely hysterical. Love it, love it.

P.S.: I'm not going to make tuna noodle casserole until Saturday or Sunday. (Tomorrow is chicken and cheese enchilada day.) You are welcome to join. Oh, and I bought you pickles, chips, shredded cheese, and salsa today so that you can have nachos when you come over again. (In case I'm not here when you do come over, please only eat the chips that are NOT baked...)

P.P.S.: (Last one, I promise.) When punctuating, periods go inside the quotation marks ALWAYS!

Alright, I must know...

Is this anonymous person who calls you "Mill" and offers random bits of writing etiquette dos and don'ts someone in your family?

Also...

How fun reading your random things! I'm afraid mine won't be nearly as interesting... I'll need a bit of time to come up with some really good ones.

And...

I think the REAL reason you have turned me down for two movie dates now is because you believe, somewhere deep down, that the next time you see a movie, you should see it ALONE. Going alone to a movie can be a very happy and therapeutic experience. Lindsey says so. I say so. Just do it. It's not as bad as you fear... FAR less traumatic than your -- ahem -- appointment the other day. =P

And...

I hope the fact that we have made a caramel apple promise to one another is a sign that you have had enough time with me to decide that you like me. Because if you haven't decided that yet, I'll feel like you're just using me for the sweet treats I am so openly willing to share with you.

That is all. See you tomorrow!!

P.S. -- Things REALLY got complicated in the Drama-Mama-Rama after we spoke today. Oh. My. Gosh!! Will fill you in on all of it when we next see each other.

P.P.S. -- Okay, one more thing.

You think it's strange that I let my dog sleep on the bed and that I snuggle up to her, yet you find nothing unusual about PICKLES in a nachos recipe???

Yeah. That's balanced.

Pfffft. Hmmmmph. What. EVER.

camille...
that TAG thing is the longest mess i've ever written...it sucked all life out of me! And i'm still not done!!!

BUT
i have to tell you about this new book i got at Seagull Bookstore.
It's called "Twilight"....dunno who the author is. But it's sooo good so far and i really think you'd like it. It's about a girl from Phoenix who moves someplace really rainy (i forget where exactly) and basically, she meets a vampire. The story is actually a lot cooler than i am making it sound, but you really should read it! it was only $8 cuz it was a paperback, but i'm sure i'll finish it this weekend.

I also got another one of Betsy Green's novels...chelsie got me stuck on those and i realized just how few of them i've actually read! i need to catch up! But i had to laugh when i read that the "Copycat" one is based in Hagghery, Georgia i believe....and that was on your list of places you'd like to go.
It made me laugh, so i had to buy it!

Thank you Camille, I'm now convinced I am the biggest loser of all. I enjoy going to the movies by my lonesome on a regular basis. I was such a happy person before I realized I should be self concious of a lone jaunt to the theater. Allison
