{On the Brink}

I imagine you've come here [to this blog, that is] today looking for entertainment. Entertainment, amusement, or just an update on this little life of mine. Well, you're not going to get it, Greedy.

And I'll tell you why: I am exhausted.

I have been painting my kitchen cupboards for the past two months, but only this week have I gotten seriously down to business. And let me tell you this one thing: painting kitchen cupboards is not as easy as HGTV makes it look. Oh, sure it would be...if you had power tools and a paint sprayer and a five-person crew to back you up. But it's quite another story if you're just one person (and most of us are [just one person, that is]).

Before

Anyway, I'm too tired to go into detail of all the work I've been doing. So instead let me simply give you a sneak peek into what is to come...

After

So there you have it. My cupboards are getting a major overhaul, and it's sucked all the life (and blogger) out of me.

That was short but very entertaining and amusing. Thanks. Is that yellow or gold, by the way?

I am painting my cupboards neither yellow NOR gold, but white. I snapped the bottom photo in poor lighting, which resulted in the yellow-ish tinge. Sorry for the confusion.

Millie,

Oooohhh! They look so cute so far!! I can't wait to see the finished product. I know what you mean about painting. It's one of my least favorite things to do. Ugh. That was almost the first (and only) fight in our marriage. Painting the kitchen table, that is. At any rate, PLEASE post pictures of the final product. I can't wait to see! Oh, and I thought you said you were going to distress them...? They already look great, though.

Let me know how it turns out! The house I just entered a contract on has lame-o oak cupboards and I was toying with painting them white. Your kitchen may play an integral part in my "to paint or not to paint" dilemma.

Yes, I do have an Uncle Hank. I'm glad you're jealous.

I made a pact with my husband: our next house WILL have white cabinets and wood floors.
