Time to Talk About Me Some More.

Guess what? I have a secret. But I'm not going to tell anyone what it is until tomorrow. Chew on that for a while.

Meanwhile, I believe it's Thursday all over this hemisphere, and that means it's time for me to answer a question.

Here's one from Cristin:

Do people in your everyday life know you have a blog?

Cristin, this is a very applicable question. All of my family (immediate, in-laws, extended, way-extended, and beyond) know I have a blog, as well as anybody who is my friend on Facebook. I have inadvertently offended some of them on my blog—that is NEVER my intention, despite what people might think. Despite my efforts, however, my blog has become a source of contention between me and several people I love. I’ve learned how careful I ought to be.

As far as my town, Mayberry—I don’t think any Mayberrians knows about my blog. I don’t know any people closely enough for them to even suspect I have a blog.

If anybody in Mayberry DOES know about Archives of Our Lives, I am in big trouble. This is why, if I ever write an award-winning, best-selling novel, I will publish it under a fantastic pen name [which I have already created]. I will only ever reveal myself to Oprah, and even that is dependent upon whether she allows me as a guest on her “Winter Favourite Things” episode.

I suppose I should live my life--and write my blog--in such a manner that would never leave me looking over my shoulder, wondering who has read the latest post. That's probably safest, really...

Meh. Who am I kidding? That would never work for me.

What about you? Do you have a blog of your own? And if so, how do you feel about your friends, family, and acquaintances knowing?

Oh, so that's the way it's going to work? You only pick out one question to answer per week? I must say, I feel a little cheated.

I'm glad you answered that one. I am starting to feel like I wish people in my everyday life didn't know I had a blog so that I could write about anything I wanted without offending them. SOmetimes all I can think of writing are things that people I know will read and find offensive to them. That sounds so mean, and yes, that means that I am always looking over my shoulder.

My town is so little that I met someone at a coffee house recently and she admitted to finding my blog online and reading it. She laughed, "I know everything about you!" I felt weird and thought, "Why do I write that dumb blog?!?"

My blog is so not controversial. Just pics of me and my friends/family doing what we do. My blog is purely for keeping everybody updated on what is going on in my life! :)

Yeah, when I first started my blog and no one knew it existed, I totally told all my friends and my mom and even 2 co-workers about it just so I could get some traffic. Now.....I've already written something my dad hated, and another something I hope he will never read (regarding sex life with hubby, hello) - and one thing my mother described as "tacky" but whatever. There are times I wish no one I knew in RL would read it. Oh well. Most of my friends that I begged to read it in the beginning? Never did. Nice friends.....

yes, I defintely wish that people I knew didn't read! Mostly my in-laws! I wish I could write how I feel about them without them reading. BUT, I thrive off of internet drama...I don't like me to be any part of it, but I LOVE it! I mean come on...I stay at home all day and watch the view! So please write some good stuff soon so I have something to talk about with Spencer.

Um...do I really need to answer this question?

If anyone gets their knickers in a twist about your blog just send them over to mine and they will say, "Wow. Thanks for the restraint, Camille! You are awesome!"
